François-Xavier and Claude Lalanne, also known as Les Lalanne, were renowned for their surrealist sculptural works, ranging from a near-lifesize bronze rhinoceros that opens to reveal a desk to an oversize cabbage sculpture perched atop chicken legs. Written by the couple's longtime gallerist and friend Jean-Gabriel Mitterrand and featuring 200 photographs, the limited-edition book is as artful as Les Lalanne's works: The linen hardcover was hand-bound using traditional techniques in a luxe clamshell case with a metal plaque and comes with complementary white gloves.
